My real names are Khomisani Isaac Mabasa born on the 16th October 1982. I was born and raised at Valdezia on the far north of Limpopo province. I started my primary lever in 1990 at Siloe special school for the blind and the partially sighted. When I was still growing, I wasn’t aware that I am blind. I thought I was leaving a normal life like everybody. As time went on, I then realized that I couldn’t see and as such I needed special treatment, hence I was taken to a special school. In the same year of 1990 while I was at pre-school, I developed the love and passion for music which was discovered by my late teacher MS Mary Malebana, may her soul rest in peace. My first language at school was Sepedi and because of that I can speak Sepedi language very fluently as if it is my mother tongue. In 1997 our school appointed a professional music teacher by the name of Moloko Lawrance Seabe who imparted a lot of knowledge and skill in music, especially in terms of singing and playing instruments such as keyboard, drums and bass guitor. In 2001, all special secondary schools in Limpopo province were moved to Setotoloane Secondary school. That was unfortunate on my side because Mr Seabe remained with the primary pupils at Siloe School, which disadvantaged my music lessons. I completed my matric at Setotoloane Secondary School in 2002, which is the very same year I lost my beloved mother. I became a law student in the University of Venda in 2003, but suspended my law studies in 2007 due to loss of intrest. From 2008 I stayed at home until the year 2014 when I got employed by the department of Justice and constitutional development as a court interpreter. I was, I am, and I will also be greatful to God for making me to be the blind court interpreter in our province of Limpopo. It is not easy to be a blind court interpreter as it requires a lot of focus and attention because a plind person cannot use a pen and paper. For me to be working as a court interpreter, has revived my interest in furthering my studies in the field of law. I am a born again Christian and a worshiper. I also direct music at my local church. I’m the song writer and a song arranger. People who contributed to built me in terms of music except Mr Seabe are, Mahlori Chauke and Mr Michael Baloi, who is currently my producer. My stage name is Zakes Hlengweni. So far that’s a brief summary of my bio.
